However, in order to receive the subsidies, they must submit paperwork to their employer within 30 days from the given birth date, which includes hospital discharge papers, birth certificate of the newborn, and completed application to receive maternal subsidies.

Maternal subsidies may differ from company to company. However, employers typically give a salary equivalent to two months. Additionally, the leave time for maternity may vary depending on special circumstances, including the work environment. In Vietnam, the law grants employees some rights that employers should be made aware of. Parental benefits can be shared between parents.

If you plan to share them, you both have to choose standard or extended benefits. Here's how the two options compare. So, for example, a new mother could take the full 15 weeks of maternity benefits she's allowed. She could also take an additional 35 weeks of standard parental benefits.

Because the Canadian government provides benefits and leave for employees, new mothers and fathers can take paid leave and be confident that they will have jobs waiting for them at the end of the leave period.
